Honeyguide

Work in progress — interactive concept prototype.

Overview

Honeyguide is a mobile app concept for planning solo time, meeting people through shared activities, and staying connected with a local community. The current prototype is set in Sydney and brings a daily itinerary, nearby activity matching, and messaging into one place.

Plan your day

The Plan screen presents a timeline from 8 AM to 6 PM. Activities are visually separated into three types: solo plans, plans with other people, and free time.

The sample day includes:

• Sydney Opera House tour — a solo plan from 9:00–10:30 at Bennelong Point.
• Meet & Wine — a joined activity with four people from 12:30–2:00 at Barangaroo.
• Free time — an open block from 2:00–4:00 where a plan can be added manually or suggested by Honeyguide.
• Language + coffee chat — a joined activity with six people from 4:00–5:30, covering English, Vietnamese, and Chinese.

For the free-time block, the prototype can add a blank activity or generate a Honeyguide suggestion. Its example suggestion is a Harbour sketch walk from 2:30–3:30, with three nearby members interested.

Find activity matches

The Matches screen collects activities around Sydney. They can be filtered by All, Hosted by me, or Joined.

The prototype includes three example activities:

• Language + coffee chat in Surry Hills, hosted by the user with six people attending.
• Meet & Wine in Barangaroo, hosted by Phuong and presented as a joined event in English and Vietnamese.
• Paint & Walk at The Rocks, hosted by Yuki with ten spots and support for English and Japanese.

People can join or leave an activity, while hosts have a separate option to manage their own event. Joining an activity adds it to the itinerary.

Stay connected

The Messages screen switches between direct conversations and local community threads.

The direct-message examples are:

• Phuong — Sydney; English, Vietnamese, and Chinese.
• John — Sydney; English and German.
• Yuki — Sydney; English, Japanese, and Chinese.

The local community includes:

• #sydney-newcomers for local questions such as finding a quiet coworking café.
• #language-exchange for organising language practice.
• #weekend-plans for activities such as a Saturday coastal walk.

Current prototype

The current version is an interactive front-end concept rather than a finished production app. It demonstrates:

• Navigation between Plan, Matches, and Messages.
• Activity filters and join/leave states.
• Direct messages and local-thread views.
• Manual and AI-assisted additions to free time.
• A mobile-first visual style using a warm honey palette.
